Cabin Porn

To say I was skeptical would be an understatement.

We've all run across  books that were slapped together with cherry-picked images from popular hashtags. They are usually shallow, uninteresting, and frankly a sign of disgraceful times: where popular content is aggregated with the goal of moving products instead of creating something of meaningful quality.

Cabin Porn is not one of these books, to my relief! Yes, the images are crowd-sourced. But the amazing thing about it is editor Zach Klein, co-founder of Vimeo, had Wired magazine correspondent Steven Leckart and photographer Noah Kalina, write and photograph nine in-depth feature profiles about exceptional people who built the this type of structure. An archive of contributed images follows each of these features, but the fact that there was a editorial attention to these sections stands out among the other books that have been pushlished in this genre.

We were pumped to see a handful of our friends featured in this book, and the writing is spot on. I would highly suggest it for anyone who loves the outdoors and wishes they could be in it more. -Jesse Lenz
