Pisgah Part 2

Sweat Peas Hostel is a solid place to stay while in Asheville if want to be right in the action and not break the bank. We posted up there for about 4 weeks, and we'd certainly go back.

Pretty rad "pods" custom designed to give you a little more privacy. Much like a train car...especially when your neighbor is taking advantage of their own privacy.

Carhartt pants, camo hat, carpenter's pencil, and a story told in ink on skin...Asheville's skate scene is legit.

Time for a business meeting. At the CQ we have a strict policy that states there can be no official business meeting unless we are seated in a hot body of water with alcohol.

Let the meeting begin.

The Marshall Container Company: a twist in a tiny North Carolina town.

Everyone needs a go-to karaoke jam.

It's an unappreciated art, picking the proper song. This is the cover you're going to be known for—the one your friends are going to beg you to serenade them with at 1 a.m. in the bar. It's gotta be in your range, of course. It should be a song people know, but have perhaps forgotten. And under no circumstances should it be by a band called Journey.

As our editorial director discovered in a near-empty burger bar off Main Street in Marshall, North Carolina, that song is "Just Dropped In" by Kenny Rogers.
